We believe in promoting athleticism and diversity while fostering self-worth, personal strength, and female empowerment. As a part of this mission, we partner with organizations around the DC metro area that align with these values and are working to improve the lives of women in our community. We are extremely proud of our ongoing partnerships.

Our league members regularly cook and serve evening dinners to the amazing women of N Street Village, a community that empowers homeless and low-income women to claim their highest quality of life by offering a broad spectrum of services as well as affordable rental housing for low- and moderate-income individuals and families. To learn more about their services, visit nstreetvillage.org.

Each year, we partner with Girls on the Run, a non-profit organization that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. The Girls on the Run program encourages emotional, social, mental and physical development to girls of grade-school ages. This program is concluded with a 5k race in which we have the pleasure of assisting as course marshalls, safety runners, and cheerleaders for the young women participating. Read more about the program at girlsontherun.org.

At every DC Roller Derby bout and interleague scrimmage, players and attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods to contribute to our ongoing support of So Others Might Eat (SOME). SOME, is an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless of our nation’s capital through food, clothing, and healthcare. In just one year, they were able to offer over 380,000 meals to people in our community. Please bring a contribution to the next DCRG event you attend, or visit their site to donate at some.org.
